The cardiac inter-atrial septum is a critical interface for the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke. In this Catalyst Conference, we will explore the inter-atrial septum from the perspectives of imaging and stroke mediator. We will address the well-known stroke risk factor the patent foramen ovale, as well as the emerging stroke risk factor the left atrial septal pouch.
