FASEB Comments on NIH-wide DEIA Strategic Plan

On May 2, FASEB transmitted comments to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on its agency-wide Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). In its response, data collection on the scientific workforce was emphasized, including identifying and promoting the use of novel measures of productivity. Additionally, FASEB recommended the Notice of NIH's Interest in Diversity be updated to be more inclusive of additional scholars from historically excluded populations, such as LGTBQIA+ scientists. FASEB thanked NIH for its thoughtful five year plan and looks forward to future advancements in inclusive excellence.
