FASEB Urges Congress to Finalize 2026 Funding for Research Agencies

As federal agencies re-open following the historic government shutdown, FASEB sent a letter urging Congress to finalize the fiscal year 2026 budget before the current continuing resolution expires on January 30, 2026. FASEB’s letter expressed concern that spending bills funding research at the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and the Department of Energy Office of Science still need to be negotiated and adopted. Completing work on these bills is critical to ensuring the United States continues its strong commitment to robust investments in research.
