On July 1, FASEB launched FASEB Fellows for the Future, a cohort program funded designed to support early-career researchers from historically excluded groups through mentoring, community support, and leadership training. The program is funded by the  National Science Foundation through its Leading Culture Change Through Professional Societies of Biology or BIO-LEAPs mechanism, which seeks to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the biosciences by leveraging the unique facets of professional societies to foster culture change.

Paired with mentors who will champion their participation in society leadership and volunteer activities, Fellows will develop initiatives to promote culture change within their respective FASEB member societies. Equipped with inclusive leadership skills to drive change within scientific societies, FASEB Fellows for the Future will serve as change agents and create pathways for early career researchers to advance into leadership positions within their professional society.

FASEB Fellows for the Future program is seeking mentors committed to fostering resilience in early career researchers. Mentors will sponsor fellows’ participation in professional society meetings and committee leadership.

Visit Fellows for the Future to learn more about eligibility requirements. Applications are due August 16. Contact FASEB DEAI team with any questions.
