FASEB Invites Science Research Conference Proposals

To support its mission to advance health and well-being by promoting research and education in biological and biomedical sciences, FASEB is encouraging researchers to submit proposals for 2026 Science Research Conference (SRC) topics by September 26, 2024.

SRCs are four- to five-day, in-person conferences focused on established research topics and are led by recognized researchers in the life sciences. The topics can range from specialized disciplines such as “Microbial Pathogenesis” to broader subjects like “Biology and Chemistry of Vision.”

SRCs feature a mix of scientific lectures and poster sessions and provide unique opportunities for early-career researchers in career development, networking, and mentoring. SRCs occur throughout the year, with attendance ranging from 100 to 200 researchers. By submitting a proposal to organize a conference, researchers can also elevate their own career profile, institution, and scientific discipline as well as use their professional networks and knowledge of important researchers in their field to create their conference program.

"Organizing a conference is a great way to connect and network with others in the field, especially trainees,” said Adriano Marchese, PhD, a professor of biochemistry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. “I enjoyed the opportunity to engage with postdocs and graduate students, who are the up-and-coming stars of the field, and it was a pleasure to showcase their research."

To help organizers achieve their meeting goals, SRC organizers are given a wide array of resources, including a guide, a promotional kit, online instructional videos, and tip sheets for each process before, during, and after the conference. All conferences are supported by a team of experienced meeting, development, and marketing staff to help plan, fund, and promote the conference. Prospective organizers are encouraged to complete their 2026 conference application online. Applications submitted by the deadline will be peer-reviewed by the FASEB SRC Advisory Committee.
