On December 18, FASEB submitted comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in response to its Request for Information (RFI) on Accelerating the American Scientific Enterprise. In its RFI, OSTP requested input on a broad range of topics related to accelerating scientific progress and translating scientific findings.

FASEB provided focused responses to three of the questions raised in the RFI, offering recommendations related to grant funding allocation, preparation for Artificial intelligence (AI) advancement, and reduction of regulatory burden. These recommendations included creating and strengthening federal funding opportunities that provide support for shared resource facilities and early-career researchers, implementing policies to ensure that scientific integrity and data privacy are maintained when using AI in biomedical research, and addressing misalignment in protocol review cycles to reduce unnecessary regulatory burden.
