The National Science Foundation and other research funding agencies, including the National Institutes of Health and Departments of Defense and Energy, have funded four awards to develop training modules for recipients of federal research funding.

As part of this effort, a team of investigators from the University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Van Andel Institute is working collaboratively with federal sponsors to develop training in best practices to optimize research security in the areas of risk management and mitigation. Focus groups will allow the team to gauge current knowledge and practices in assessing and managing collaborations and protecting unpublished information, data, and intellectual capital and property; tools and resources used; and awareness of potential security risks and measures to mitigate risk. Feedback from these focus groups will be critical to developing effective training for the U.S. research community.

If you would like to volunteer to take part in a virtual focus group, please complete this registration form. Volunteers at all academic levels, from graduate students to professors, are encouraged to register, as are research administrators.
