Olufunke Falayi, PhD

Olufunke Falayi is pursuing her PhD in molecular and translational physiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). Before relocating to the U.S., she obtained her DVM and MSc in veterinary pharmacology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a graduate research assistant in Adebiyi Lab, and her research primarily focuses on understanding microvascular dysfunction in acute kidney injury. Outside of her research work, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing her violin, watching films, and reading novels.

Use of Award: Weekend childcare expenses to conduct experiments for doctoral candidacy exam and to attend American Heart Association’s Hypertension Conference 

Falayi is a member of American Physiological Society, a FASEB member society.
